Touchpoints: Exploring Texture in Art is now on view in the Watauga Arts Council’s Main Gallery from October 6 through December 14. Bringing together artists working across a variety of mediums, this exhibit explores the role texture plays in how we see, feel, and experience art.
Featuring fiber art, painting, mixed media, and more, Touchpoints invites visitors to look more closely at the surfaces, layers, materials, and details that give each work its unique character. From subtle textures to bold and dimensional surfaces, the exhibit celebrates the many ways artists use texture to create depth, movement, and meaning. With such a range of artists, materials, and approaches, Touchpoints invites visitors to consider how texture can transform a work of art; not only through what we see, but through what we imagine we might feel.
